55th Shimonita Konjac Summer Festival
The schedule for the 55th Shimonita Konjac Summer Festival has been finalized.
This year, the event schedule has been slightly revised. With the exception of food and beverage sales, the festival will officially open later in the day to avoid the intense midday summer heat.
Although there will be no portable shrine (mikoshi) procession this year, we are working hard to ensure everyone can continue to enjoy the festival through booth sales, stage performances, and many other attractions.
Due to festival preparations, parking restrictions will be in effect at the free tourist parking lot next to the Konjac Handmade Experience Center and other nearby parking areas. If you are visiting Shimonita by car, please use the parking facilities of your destination or the free municipal parking lot at the Nakamachi Intersection.
Parking information for the day of the festival will be announced on the official website and social media once finalized.

*Venue opens and food & beverage sales begin at 1:00 PM.
*Fireworks display: 8:00 PM – 8:20 PM (scheduled).

* Please note that traffic restrictions will be in effect around Hotaruyama Park.
* The event may be cancelled or postponed due to weather or other circumstances.
* The use of drones, including aerial photography and filming, is strictly prohibited within and around the festival venue.
Parking & Traffic Restrictions
The following parking areas will be closed during the indicated periods. During these times, please use the free municipal parking lot at Nakamachi Intersection.

Free Tourist Parking Lot

Plaza in Front of the Konjac Handmade Experience Center
No Vehicle Access: July 27 (Mon) – August 24 (Mon)
*Only visitors with reservations for the Konjac Handmade Experience Center may enter.
Culture Hall & Health Center Parking Lot (West of the Experience Center)
Closed: August 13 (Thu) – August 14 (Fri)
*The Culture Hall & Health Center parking lot (west side) is reserved exclusively for visitors and staff of those facilities.
*If you wish to use the plaza in front of the Konjac Handmade Experience Center for parking, advance reservation through the Shimonita Town Commerce & Tourism Division is required.
*Please also note that parking lots at private businesses such as Welcia and A-Coop are for customers only.
